A happy diesel is one that is out in the yard (or garden railway) busy working. Here is a photo album of GP9's from around the world.

Strange Interchange

This Southern Pacific is a long way from home if it's on the same track as the Pennsy Geep! Look at that REAL exhaust streaming from the exhaust port! Now that's realism for diesel motive power!

Sitting Pretty

This photo has often been mistaken for the real thing!. This Union Pacific is hauling a long rake of Model Die Cast 1/32 scale boxcars, reefers, and gondolas around the 1/10th mile loop of the I.E.&W. Railway.

Showing off for the Public

"That's a REAL locomotive" , exclaims an excited youngster as the GP9 makes an impressive run over a connecting bridge of a modular railway. This Union Pacific is pulling a long rake of 1/29 ARISTO mainline rolling stock around the modular railway on display at the Bay Area Garden Railway Society's Annual Board of Director's Weekend show. Here you can see how the GP9 is at home with track power locomotives because of its insulated wheels.
