The WADA WORKS GP9 diesel locomotive
was produced in 1994 and available to the public for purchase from 1995-2005.
Only 100 units of the GP9 were
produced in the liveries shown above. 45 Union Pacific, 45 Southern Pacific, 5 The WADA WORKS GP9 was unique in its design, and set the standard that few have been able to replicate. The locomotive was the result of over five years of research and development to produce a motor-generator powerplant that was small enough to fit in the body of a 1/32 scale 2nd generation diesel locomotive, and also be strong enough to turn-over a glow engine to get the unit up and running. This remarkable piece of engineering is as amazing in it's design as it is in operation. |
